Frequently Asked Questions
What is LasikLog?
LasikLog is a personal post-operative recovery tracker for adults who have undergone — or are preparing for — laser eye surgery. It schedules eye-drop reminders, tracks daily symptoms and vision check-ins, manages activity restriction timelines, captures progress photos for side-by-side comparison, and prompts you ahead of follow-up appointments.
Which procedures does LasikLog support?
LASIK, PRK, SMILE, and TransPRK. Default medication schedules and activity restriction timelines are tailored to each procedure type. Always follow the specific instructions given by your surgeon, even where they differ from the App's defaults.
Is LasikLog medical advice?
No. LasikLog is an informational and self-tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or medical advice. The App's defaults and prompts — including any "warning" thresholds based on your self-reported pain or vision — are flags to encourage you to contact your surgeon, not diagnoses. For urgent or worsening symptoms, contact your surgeon or seek emergency care.
Do I need to create an account or log in?
No. LasikLog works entirely without accounts, sign-ups, or logins. There is no registration process. You open the App and start using it immediately.
How much does LasikLog cost? Is it a subscription?
LasikLog is a one-time purchase of USD $3.99 (or the local-currency equivalent set by Apple). The purchase is non-consumable: it grants access to all current and future features released to the same App, with no subscription or recurring charge.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device or after reinstall?
Sign in to the same Apple ID you used to make the original purchase, install LasikLog, then go to Settings → Restore Purchase inside the App. Apple will reissue access to all paid features on the new device.
Will LasikLog remind me to take my eye drops?
Yes. LasikLog schedules local notifications on your iPhone for drops, restriction milestones, and follow-up appointments. Delivery is controlled by iOS and depends on settings such as Focus modes, Do Not Disturb, low-power mode, and your notification permissions, so reminder delivery is not guaranteed in all circumstances. You remain responsible for taking your medications and following your surgeon's instructions regardless of whether a reminder is delivered.
Can I customize the medication schedule?
Yes. LasikLog ships with sensible defaults for each procedure type, but you can edit dose timing, frequency, and duration, and add or remove medications to match exactly what your surgeon prescribed. If your surgeon's instructions differ from the App's defaults, follow your surgeon.
Where are my progress photos stored?
Inside LasikLog's protected sandbox on your iPhone — not in your device's Photos library. They never leave your device unless you explicitly export them.
Does LasikLog connect to Apple Health?
No. LasikLog is not integrated with Apple HealthKit and does not read from or write to Apple Health. All recovery data — symptom ratings, vision ratings, medications, pain levels, and photos — stays on your device.
What data does LasikLog collect about me?
Your recovery data — medication logs, symptom check-ins, photos, appointments, surgeon contact details, and notes — stays on your device. We never have access to it. The App sends only anonymous, aggregate usage events through a privacy-focused analytics provider (TelemetryDeck), together with app version, iOS version, and device model class. We never transmit your name, surgeon details, free-text notes, photos, health data, or persistent device or advertising identifiers. Full details are in the LasikLog Privacy Policy.
Can I turn off analytics?
Yes. Go to Settings → About inside the App and toggle off anonymous TelemetryDeck events at any time.
What happens to my data if I uninstall LasikLog?
Because all your recovery data is stored locally inside the App's sandbox, uninstalling LasikLog permanently removes that data from your device. If you want to keep notes or photos, export them before uninstalling.
How do I get a refund?
All refund requests are handled by Apple under the App Store refund policy. We are not able to issue App Store refunds directly. To request a refund, visit support.apple.com/HT204084.
What should I do if I have an urgent or worsening symptom?
Contact your surgeon. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency room. LasikLog's prompts and warning flags are designed to encourage you to check in with your surgeon — they are not a substitute for professional medical care.
Does the app access my location, contacts, or microphone?
No. LasikLog does not request location, contacts, or microphone access. The only permissions it may ask for are notifications (for drop and appointment reminders) and camera access (only when you choose to capture an in-app progress photo).
How do I contact support?
