AltiBake Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your download, installation, and use of AltiBake. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

These Terms are in addition to, and where there is a conflict are subordinate to, the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes.

1. The App

AltiBake is a barometer-based altitude baking adjuster for adults and family bakers preparing recipes at altitudes above sea level. The App provides:

• Real-time altitude and atmospheric-pressure display, derived from your iPhone's barometer hardware.
• A Quick Reference table of standard high-altitude baking adjustments by zone (Sea Level, Moderate, High, Very High, Extreme).
• A Recipe Adjuster that converts a sea-level recipe into adjusted ingredient amounts, oven temperature, and baking time for your current altitude zone.
• Saved Recipes (Premium feature): name, save, and re-open adjusted recipes locally on your device.
• Home screen widgets that display your current altitude and zone-specific adjustment summary.
• Educational content about why altitude affects baking, water boiling point at altitude, and tips for high-altitude cooking.

The App operates locally on your device. No account is required to use the App.

2. Important: Cooking Guidance, Not Personalised Advice

AltiBake is an informational and self-tracking tool. The recipe adjustments the App suggests are general guidelines based on standard high-altitude baking literature; they are not personalised to your specific oven, ingredients, recipe, or technique. Many factors that materially affect baking outcomes are outside the App's scope, including:

• Oven calibration, hot spots, and convection/conventional differences.
• Ingredient brands, freshness, gluten content, fat content, and substitutions.
• Local humidity, weather, and indoor conditions.
• Pan material, colour, and size.
• Mixing technique, dough handling, and resting time.

Barometer hardware accuracy can also vary between devices and over time, and pressure-derived altitude is an estimate, not a survey-grade reading. The App makes no promise that following its suggested adjustments will produce a particular result. You agree to test recipes, observe results, and adjust based on your own experience.

For any food-safety-related question (such as required internal temperatures or shelf life), consult authoritative public-health guidance or a qualified professional. AltiBake does not provide food-safety advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age permitted in your jurisdiction for App Store purchases without a parent or guardian) to use the App. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must use the App with the involvement and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

4. Licence

Subject to these Terms, OmniaChron grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use only.

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the limited extent permitted by applicable law.
• Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works of the App.
• Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the App.
• Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices.
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws, including export-control and sanctions laws.
• Use the App in connection with high-risk activities where failure of the App could result in death, personal injury, or environmental damage (other than the personal informational use described in these Terms).

5. Free Version, In-App Purchase, and Refunds

AltiBake is free to download and use. The free version includes:

• Real-time altitude and barometric pressure display.
• The Quick Reference adjustment table for all altitude zones.
• One (1) full Recipe Adjustment per calendar day.

An optional Premium in-app purchase of USD $2.99 (or local-currency equivalent set by Apple) unlocks:

• Unlimited Recipe Adjustments.
• Saved Recipes (the ability to name, save, and re-open adjusted recipes on your device).
• Full reference content, including expanded category-specific tips and the boiling-point calculator.

The Premium in-app purchase is non-consumable: once completed it grants permanent access to the unlocked features for the same Apple ID, without subscription or recurring charge.

• Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Pricing displayed at checkout is authoritative.
• You may restore a previous purchase on a new device or after reinstall using "Restore Purchase" in Settings, provided you are signed in to the same Apple ID.
• The free-tier daily-adjustment limit, the specific list of Premium-only features, and the price point may change over time. Where reasonably possible, anyone who has already purchased Premium will retain access to features that were Premium at the time of their purchase.
• All refund requests are handled by Apple under their refund policy. We are not able to issue App Store refunds directly. See support.apple.com/HT204084.

6. Widgets and Live Data

The App provides home screen widgets that display your current altitude, atmospheric pressure, and a summary of zone-specific adjustments. Widgets read from the same on-device barometer hardware as the main App. Widget update frequency is controlled by iOS and may be limited based on system conditions such as battery state, low-power mode, and background-activity budgets. Widget data is generated on-device and is never transmitted off-device.

7. Your Data

Information you create within the App (saved recipes, app preferences, your most recent pressure and altitude readings) is stored on your device. We do not have access to it. AltiBake does not use GPS or location services and never requests location permission. See the AltiBake Privacy Policy for full details on the limited anonymous analytics events that are transmitted, and on how your purchase is processed by Apple.

You are responsible for backing up your device. Uninstalling the App deletes all data created within it.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its source code, design, content, default protocols, prompts, copy, icons, and trademarks, is owned by OmniaChron Inc. or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Except for the limited license granted in Section 4, no rights are granted to you.

User-entered content (your recipe names, ingredient amounts, notes, etc.) remains your property. You retain all rights in it.

9. Third-Party Services

The App relies on services provided by Apple (App Store, StoreKit, WidgetKit, the CMAltimeter framework) and by TelemetryDeck (anonymous analytics). Your use of those services is subject to the providers' own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and have no control over their availability or behavior.

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, OMNIACHRON DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP'S ALTITUDE READINGS, PRESSURE READINGS, OR SUGGESTED RECIPE ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR PARTICULAR RECIPE, OVEN, INGREDIENTS, OR LOCATION. BAKING OUTCOMES ARE NOT GUARANTEED.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions our warranties are limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL OMNIACHRON, ITS AFFILIATES, OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, USE, INGREDIENTS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OMNIACHRON'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU ACTUALLY PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) CAD $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold OmniaChron Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or damage (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

These Terms remain in effect while the App is installed on your device. We may suspend or terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 2, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 survive termination.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Toronto, Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose laws override this clause, mandatory consumer-protection rules of your jurisdiction continue to apply.

15. Apple-Specific Terms

You acknowledge that:

• These Terms are between you and OmniaChron Inc., not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the App.
• In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the App; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
• OmniaChron Inc. (not Apple) is responsible for addressing any product, intellectual-property, or third-party claims relating to the App.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

16. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the Effective Date above and, where appropriate, surfaced in the App. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
